colourPod 2: dimensionPod Walkthrough
colourPod 2: dimensionPod is, without question, one of the most unique and engrossing online war games. It is difficult, engrossing and entirely addictive. You'll be drawn in from the very beginning and will want to keep playing again and again. The controls are completely different than most other online war games, but not impossible to figure out. It will likely take a little while to get used to how the game is played, but with a little time and patience, even novice war game players will be able to get the hang of it. That said, the game is never easy with new obstacles coming at you with every new level, but the game avoids feeling impossible. Instead, it feels simply challenges you to improve. Each time you fail a level, you are given the opportunity to start over although you will lose half of your score. If you're going for a high score, sometimes it's a better idea to just submit your score and start over from the beginning.
The basic premise behind colourPod 2: dimensionPod is quite unique to online war games in and of itself. Instead of following the standard soldier defending the base premise, this game puts you in the role of the very last dimension pod. Both dimensions have been destroyed and rendered black and white. The only thing left are tiny fragments of color which you will need to collect on you lens. Each fragment you collect will give you power which you can use to destroy the evil colorless fragments. It isn't hard to distinguish the color fragments - the ones you want to collect - from the colorless fragments - the ones you want to destroy. The color fragments are in color while the colorless ones are white or black outlined in white. The pod is pretty easy to figure out. You shoot with the pointy end and you catch the color fragments with the rounded edge (the lens). Pretty - straight forward. When you collect a color fragment, power will appear in the 'store' in the upper right corner of the screen. Once the store is filled you will achieve a new level for that color. Avoid letting the color fragments from hitting anywhere other than the curved side of the lens as it will cost you health points. Don't let the colorless fragments hit you anywhere as that will also cost you health. If you run out of health (your health status bar is shown on the right side of the screen) your game is over and you can choose to submit your score or cut your score in half and try the level again.
Although colourPod 2: dimensionPod sounds fairly easy, it's actually quite a difficult game. Firing a shot uses power and it takes time for you to reload to take another shot. When you fire a shot, you'll see the outline around the 'store' change. When the outline is complete again, you will be able to fire another shot. Until that outline is complete, though, you will not be able to fire again. If there are colorless fragments grouped together and approaching fast, you definitely don't have to waste time waiting to reload because you misfired or hit the wrong fragment. Shoot the closest fragments first. That will give you a little more time to take the next shot. In addition, you will need to warp to the other dimension at times to shoot a colorless fragment. You can only shoot fragments that are solid white. If the fragment is only outlined in white, you will need to warp the other dimension to take it out. There are only two dimensions so if the fragment is outlined in white, it will definitely be solid white - and therefore able to be removed - in the other dimension. This can pose the most challenge if you need to remove three or more fragments and they are all in different dimensions. You will need to warp and shoot as quickly as possible if you don't want to lose health points.
As you progress in colourPod 2: dimensionPod new shapes will appear, some moving more quickly than others, while the game play in general speeds up. You need to be careful, pay attention and avoid losing health as much as possible. That can't always be done, but if you're careful, you should be able to do fairly well in this game. What really sets this game apart from other war games online, aside from the premise, is that you need to complete missions to unlock hints. There are several different missions you can tackle, some of them easier than others, but the hints make a great reward. This game is difficult and the hints you can unlock can make it a little bit easier. The great thing about the missions is that you won't need to be a skilled and experienced player to complete many of them. Some of the missions are definitely hard to get, but there are many that even a newcomer to this style of online war game will be able to conquer. Alternatively, more experienced players will love striving for the harder missions. This is really a game that offers something for everyone.
Overall, colourPod 2: dimensionPod is one of the more addictive and engrossing war games online simply because it dares to approach the genre in a whole new way. If you're looking for something a little out of the ordinary, this is definitely the war game for you. It isn't an easy game, but it isn't so difficult new players won't be able to have fun playing it. It can be frustrating while you are learning how to play, but take a little time to play through the tutorial. The tutorial gives you the basics and will give you the chance to play through the fundamentals of the game before you actually start playing. Those who have a little more experience with war games are likely going to find this game a bit more challenging than they expect but they'll appreciate the new approach. This is a game any fan of war games should play at least once.
