Red Storm 2: Survival Walkthrough

Red Storm 2: Survival is not a game for the newcomer to shoot 'em up war games that gets easily frustrated. For the beginner, this game is going to be extremely difficult. The controls are fairly standard so getting the hang of how to aim and shoot shouldn't be all that difficult. The problem is the sheer number of enemies your face off against almost right from the start. Although the first level is fairly easy to get through, things get much more difficult quickly. The number of enemies increases and since they're not exactly one shot kills, taking them all out can be challenging. You will be able to do it, but it will take a lot of time and practice and you won't be able to do it without taking a little damage. It's well worth the time though because this game is awesome.

Those who have a little more experience playing action war games will probably have a bit of an easier time with Red Storm 2: Survival. The controls will be more familiar and the basic rules will be second nature to someone who plays this type of game on a regular basis. That said, even with experience this game is far from easy. It will provide the more experienced players with the challenge they are looking for without feeling impossible to get through. Some levels are much harder than others though, so there may be times when even the veteran player will feel they are far out matched. You need to think and shoot fast if you hope to make it through this game regardless of how skilled or experienced you are.

The best thing about Red Storm 2: Survival is that it provides a real challenge in a genre where that is seldom true. Fans of action war games looking for a really difficult game often find themselves settling for something less that what they actually want. This game is hard. There's no way around that, but it isn't impossible. The best way to get through this game is to pay attention to your surroundings and take advantage of the upgrades as soon as you possibly can. The game screen isn't weighted down with bulky panels displaying information. Instead, everything you really need to know is shown along the bottom of your screen; your experience, your health, your upgrade points are all right there. Go into each new challenge with your guns blazing. Shoot boxes and crates as well. You never know where bonus items will be hidden. Stand back and just fire into your enemies. Look around for anything that might give you at least temporary shelter and force your enemies to come to you; shooting at them as soon as they approach.

Overall, Red Storm 2: Survival is a more than worthy sequel to the original game, Red Storm. Fans of the first epic action war game are sure to love this one just as much. The only real difference is the screen where you choose your mission is a little bit different (a little more complicated, about the only thing I didn't think was an improvement) but the game play is more or less the same. This isn't a game for everyone though. If you get easily frustrated you might want to consider checking out another game. This one is a lot of fun but there are more than a few levels that are likely going to give you problems. As you play, though, you will get better and you'll be rewarded for your patience with an intense, engrossing and addictive game.
